Wandering always, content never.

Sometimes late at night, I write because my mind won’t stop spinning. I enjoy being alone late at night, knowing that people are starting to fall asleep, entering dreams. The world gets quiet, peaceful. The accumulation of the days events swirl in my head and I think to myself, did I do better than yesterday? Did I make any kind of impact on this big, beautiful world? Some days I answer that question better than others. I’ve been both blessed and cursed with a wanderers soul, a gypsy soul. I have trouble staying in one place…

An American, An Australian, A couple Austrians, A German, A Frenchman, and A Brit.

What do all of these have in common? Well, they either went on a date with me or.. . um… kissed me. The German you now know the story of, but there were other boys before him, and between the times I saw him. While Chris was unavailable due to flying, I continued to Tinder. It was more for company than anything else, and to meet new people. Luckily, I got some pretty great stories out of it. I will first start with the Australian, who, as unmemorable as he is, warrants a full post just for the simple reason…

The German: The Finale.

I don’t want to end this story because it was much to beautiful to close the book. But, I have to be a realist sometime. I can’t always be the dreamer. I fell in love with Chris the way that only movies dictate. I didn’t believe it was possible to care so much about a human being that fast. But it is. And even though now we slowly stopped speaking. Even though it may have meant way less to him. I will never look back on my time in Vienna and think that…

The German: The Middle.

The next time I saw Chris, he met up with Rachel and I at 1516 (an expat bar off stephensplatz) after Rachel and I had one too many drinks. To be honest, I don’t think either of us remember getting there. I do, however, remember how amazing those potato wedges with cheese and ranch were. Or maybe I was just drunk and excited about the prospect of ranch in Europe. But I digress… We sit at a small table and talk and laugh and Chris eats some food. When it’s time to leave, Chris…

The German: The Beginning

I’ve been reluctant to write about the German. Part of me felt like as soon as I did, then that was it. I’d just be writing a memory. And I didn’t want him to be a memory for everyone to read about. I wanted him to be real. I wanted those days to stay fresh in my head. I wanted them to be a comfort when I was having the constant Vienna withdrawals I’d been having lately. But I can’t keep him in my head forever. He’s…

Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day!! Tomorrow I will board three separate planes to get to a final destination of BUDAPEST! There, I will meet up with Kryss and we will have the fun task of getting to our hotel and then exploring the city! I’m using so many exclamation points because I’m SO SO SO SO excited. Sorry, ya’ll. The schedule goes a little something like this: Tomorrow/Early Friday: Fly to DC –> Fly to Frankfurt –> Fly to Budapest Friday: Explore Budapest Saturday: Morning in Budapest, take a bus in…

Taylor Swift, NYC festivals & Butterflies (& more!)

There are many things that I’ve taken for granted in life. Being able to travel is never one of them. Being able to hop on a plane and visit with a good friend and his brother for 36 hours was such a perfect way to spend a weekend. We started our Saturday with bottomless mimosas for two hours. Then we spent the day at Govenors Ball festival. I even ran into a friend from high school. It had been almost ten years since I’ve seen Addie. I’m such a lucky girl! Something I&#8217…

NYC escapades with Evan :)

It’s been four and a half years since Evan and I last saw each other in Boston. We met the year before at the EFCB kickoff in Miami. This guy, he is so perfect…. well, minus the fact that he’s a liberal. But that’s a whole other post in itself. 😉 I’m so excited to finally see him this weekend! I’m flying to NYC and will be there for literally 36 hours but with a free flight and free hotel, I’m down to go anywhere for less than…

Mardi Gras 2015

Mardi Gras. Just saying those two words brings me back to a five day EPIC trip to NOLA. It brings me back to crawfish and Jesters. It brings me back to Minnesota boys who are EXACTLY like my ex Jason, except with a Minnesota accent. It brings me back to a long ass road trip through six states. It brings me back to a group of Kentucky boys. Lisa and I left Saturday morning for Montegomery, Alabama. It was Valentine’s day but that didn’t mean much to me this year. I was more concerned with all…
