Baby Two: 25 Weeks Pregnant

25 weeks pregnant

Baby Lamotta is due September 28th, 2017!

Today is 6/16/17 which means I’m 25 weeks, 1 day.

Baby is the size of a baseball glove.

I’ve gained… well the scale at Baby & Co said I gained 13.4 pounds – however – I was wearing my chunky wedges on the scale so I’d subtract like 2 pounds for those so I’m going to round to 11 pounds for now. 🙂

Midwife appointment this week? Yes, I had my 2nd trimester group visit at my birthing center Wednesday afternoon. This was my first experience with a group visit because I skipped the 1st trimester one. It was nice seeing other mamas around the same gestational age and getting to hear baby girl’s heartbeat. I’m now measuring 24 weeks which is NORMAL. I was a little stressed when I was measuring 3 weeks ahead last time (outside of normal). We talked a lot about what to expect after birth, how to ask for REAL help from friends/family, postpartum depression, and then we chatted about the glucose test coming up. Did you know that gestational diabetes is all dependent on the placenta? So even if you’ve never had it, or if you did, it doesn’t make a difference because this is a completely different placenta? Gonna hashtag that one: #thethingsyoulearnonagroupvisit. I swear I had no idea! I’m a little nervous about that one since this babe has wanted so many sweets but fingers crossed I don’t have it. I didn’t with Jude – not that that matters here – but still. Hoping for a safe pregnancy so I don’t have to switch from my birth center plan!

Current mood: Stressed. I had some craziness with school yesterday and Jude graduated pre-K and I’m just a mess of emotions lately preparing for everything! I’ve got Barcelona & graduation next month and then Jude starts Kindergarten and I’m buying my dad’s house from him so then we will have a lot of moving furniture/painting/decorating to do before baby girl gets here. A lot is happening over the next two months!

Cravings: Chocolate. Sweets of any kind really.

Food Aversions: Pizza is getting better but still an issue.

The yucky stuff: Y’all I swear my body is just not what it used to be. I pee a little when I sneeze/laugh/move the wrong way. My back is starting to hurt a lot. My memory is pretty much non-existent. And this heartburn… well, I might as well be breathing fire at this point. I eat Tums like they’re candy. I have my glucose screening on the 27th and I’m going to ask about what else I can take cause Tums aren’t cutting it.

Currently rocking: Maternity clothes and stretchy Le Tote items are my best friends.

The best thing about pregnancy this week? I’m so close to my third trimester! I can almost taste the red wine…

What’s different about baby #2 than with Jude’s pregnancy? I’ve started nesting… much earlier. With Jude, I remember nesting in the 3rd trimester a lot but I’ve already started doing it. I’ve cleaned the pantry, cleaned the laundry area, cleaned the hall closets. I am obsessed with cleaning and organizing everything. Not to mention I’ve filled Hattie’s wardrobe with loads of clothes. I’m so thankful for everyone who has given me clothes for her!

I’m nervous about: what I’m going to do after she’s born. We have like no plan for care right now. I’m hoping my dad will watch her for a while but he’s kind of unpredictable lately so I’m a little stressed about it.

Other thoughts: I know I talk about baby girl a lot now but I just have to say how PROUD I am of my sweet boy. He graduated from Pre-K yesterday and he just lights up my world. His teachers love him. He has such great friends. I’m honestly just so proud of the little boy he’s becoming and I cannot freaking wait until he starts elementary school and becomes a big brother.
